...are apparently light and fluffy, but is it worth paying the extra.
M&S have some with 20% off at the moment. Would need 13.5tog king size.

We got a 15tog from Debenhams early this year at a knock down price, we used it this Autumn and boy is it heavy and very warm. At first two warm and heavy but we have got used to it now. Yes I think it is worth the extra, you might be better holding off until Spring like we did and bag a bargain, I think ours was about £220

Definately, I bought mine from Ikea and you should look for a higher percentage of down to feathers as that makes it lighter. Mine is very light and lovely and cosy.0 -
A goose down duvet should be light and warm, feathers are heavier, you have to check the content of your duvet. I have a pure hungarian goose down duvet from John Lewis, it has no feathers at all, at £205 it is very expensive, but it should last up to thirty years with proper care. It is light and warm and the best thing I have ever bought. I use a duvet liner under the duvet cover and I also use a top sheet, at this price I will need to take good care of it.0

I believe the Goose down is far superior and lighter than duck down, UNLESS you go for pure Eiderdown which surpasses all others but cost thousands. Apparantly, if you held a handful of Eiderdown, it is so light, all you would feel is warmth in your hand. Now that is a duvet
I would always go for pure down though, no feathers, they just add weight.0
