which charity

Hi, I was not sure which section to post this in but hope this is okay.

This is going to sound as though I have completely lost the plot and am quite mad however.....a few weeks ago a charity bag came through my door and along with it was several small boxes with what i can only describe as sort of crystals....like a sort of door knob size and one even looked like a small door knob......i feel these were associated with the charity bag left.....i put the charity bag in the bin (bad me but we get so many of them)....also the little crystal things...
Since then, i have had these little boxes put through my letter box two more times (no collection bag with it)....and this morning, very early i could hear something thudding onto my floor and it was more of these little boxes . I didnt have time to get my keys and open the front door and as my front door is at the side of my house and can be accessed from two different paths i couldnt see who it was......(i had a note on my door for DHL and UPS as expecting two deliveries asking whether they could nto leave with a neighbour and could they leave a card to rearrange delivery if i am not home...along with the crystals coming through my letter box, the person took the note off my door, screwed it up and posted it through my letter box (it came through straight after the little boxes stopped thudding on the floor....i watched `keyless` and unable to open the front door...- and the masking tape i had used to put the note on the door they stuck onto my door forming a cross....i know its mad but i have to find out who is doing this....i have a nieghbour that i dont speak to as she is mad...literally......and at first i wondered whether it was her.......also these collection people...whoever they are....have been back wards and forwards to my neighbour as she ahs been leaving a lot of old toot for them to collect.....

i am now furious with the situation...esp tearing the note off my front door and shoving it through the letter box (it wasnt DHL or UPS as the deliveries i am expecting have not been dispatched.....
i need to find out who this charity is and contact them to tell them that i am really not happy with this and to stop shoving these things through my letter box....

i know it all sounds bonkers but does anybody know of a collection charity who give these crystal things in a little box maybe as a sort of `thank you` thing.......they have obviously got somebody a bit mad working for them.......i also find it really spooky to keep having these things thudding through my letter box.....

If there's no logo or contact details on the boxes, they probably aren't from a charity - it would be pointless to give away something without getting the credit for it.

maybe they give them to people when they collect their bags of donations - and maybe they have somebody a bit mad and unscrupulous working for them....its all so strange....

What you describe may not be associated with these charity collectors at all, but with someone who is not mentally compos mentis or is trying to intimidate people. I would contact the police if it happens again.

BTW I would not assume the people collecting for the charity are charity volunteers. Many, of these "charities" who collect from door to door are actually private companies who donate a small percentage of what they make to a particular charity. In effect they are modern day rag and bone men who are using a charity as a marketing gimmick.
