Utility Point, monthly payment much higher than told

Please ignore as I didn't read the welcome pack properly and it seems that just my initial payment is so high. Subsequent payments will be a lot lower (I hope)
I have just switched to this supplier as it was one of the cheapest on the mse energy club comparison page. The comparison advised me that me monthly payment would be £64 a month. Utility point have emailed me today to advise me that my direct debit will be £128 a month which is over double what I am presently paying, although my present deal is due to end. Of course, I am now out of my 2 weeks to change my mind
Is there anything I can do about this? I have emailed Utility Point but they say it could take 10 days to get back to me.

You could choose to stick to the lower payment and build up a huge debt or accept the higher payment actually reflects your real usage and the payments cover it

This is more than likely due to the time you changed - at winter. They may have set your direct debit so high to absorb the winter costs, to avoid your account falling too far into debit. Normally at winter times, people will have built up some credit during the year to absorb the high winter costs.
Phone them up tomorrow and ask for the direct debit to be reduced. I wouldn't get your hopes on the £64/month direct debit until the end of spring - that is just your annual usage being paid monthly.
Submit your meter readings a day before your monthly statement is due to be generated - while you're on the phone, you can ask when your statement will be generated. Mine is generated on the 15th, so I submit my readings on the 14th. This gives me the most accurate bill and I don't rely on estimated usage.0 -
I have just looked back through all of my emails from them. I had missed an attached welcome pack. If I am reading it correctly, just my first dd will me this high and then future payments will be lower than I was quoted.
Yes, I'm an idiot!0
