    I believe this affected me when trying to apply for a Barclaycard on Wednesday evening, around 8pm. I got an error part way saying something went wrong, and to try again. I tried a few times, with no different result. I telephoned to report the issue, but I was told there were no problems with the website because a number of people had successfully applied during the day, and therefore it must be a problem with my computer or internet browser. I wasted an hour on this.

    It may have been something that manifested itself in a similar way but clearly wasn't the HSBC-specific issue that this thread and article are about!
