£150 parking ticket

Hi I have been sent a letter from DRP (debt tecovery plus) for a parking ticket from Apcoa connect for parking at a train station longer than what was paid for by about 2.5 hours in august 2018
The fine is £150 - can i appeal this? Seems pretty steep!

Problem is, and ive only just noticed this due to this problem...they sent the fine to the wrong address as my log book is registered at number 33 rather than number 3 (33 doesnt exist) and the first letter i have received is now from DRP (debt recovery plus) am i too late to appeal now?

Thanks for any help! I have looked through forums but by my own admittance im not the sharpest tool in the box and dont really understand lol!

IGNORE it , they are nearly out of time (6 months deadline for railway ones)

too late to appeal it anyway

the DVLA can fine you up to £1000 for not changing (or checking) your details, so get that done ASAP, or you could be in real doo doo

    ignore APCOA

    and definitely IGNORE drpl

    It is not a fine.

As Redx has already said, you can safely ignore powerless debt collectors.

The most important thing is to correct the keeper's details on the V5. You have nothing else to worry about where railway byelaws apply.

Just make a note of the date when six months will have elapsed. At that point you could contact CRAPCOA and tell them that since this is now statute barred you require them to delete all data they hold about you including your VRN.

The whole industry is a scam, relying on threats of court, and the public's ignorance of the Law, A bill is currently before parliament which will regulate the scammers, many of whom are ex-clampers.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of alleged contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors. Is has been suggested by an MP that some of these companies may have connections to organised crime.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, (especially Smart}, and others have already been named and shamed in the House of Commons as have Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each week), hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned. They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

The problem has become so widespread that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers.

Sir Greg Knight's Private Members Bill to curb the excesses, and perhaps close down, some of these companies passed its Second Reading in the Lords this month, and, with a fair wind, will l become Law later this year..

All three readings are available to watch on the internet, (some 6-7 hours), and published in Hansard. MPs have an extremely low opinion of the industry. Many are complaining that they are becoming overwhelmed by complaints from members of the public. Add to their burden, complain in the most robust terms about the scammers.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

You need to read post #4 of the NEWBIES FAQS thread - see my signature below this reply - and count your lucky stars this is only APCOA. Nothing will happen except letters from DRP aka Zenith (no updates about any debt letters, please, as the forum is full of them).

If ever you do receive a private PCN, read the NEWBIES thread first. An APCOA one would have ended with 100% guaranteed win at POPLA stage, had you received it, and you would never have had these laughable threatograms!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
