sellers email address

Just won an auction and paid, however I'd like to send seller extra postage for recorded delivery instead of just 2nd class. I though I could just go into Paypal but sellers email address isn't there just his Ebay user name. Can't see it on the Ebay order details page either. If I ask him for it I'm worried Ebay may see it as something suspicious re off site trading or something, I don't want to cause seller any trouble. I realise now I should've asked seller to add it to listing as alternative postage choice. Any ideas?

  • Ask the seller via message to send an invoice for payment. Explain you want to pay extra to have the item sent signed for.

Can they do that if I've already paid? I realised just after paying I should've asked for an updated invoice. Was so glad I'd won I just clicked the pay button without thinking!

The Recorded Delivery protects the seller and NOT the buyer, if you don't receive it for any reason you just put a claim in on Ebay. Not sure why you are wanting it sent RD (it's now called Signed For btw).

Its a rare collectible won at the starting price, and the last collectible I won 'was lost in the post'. Feedback for this seller is good but didn't want to risk another item mysteriously disappearing

If it went missing though you would just claim against the seller for it not arriving. If it's bigger than a large letter size it will get a tracking number anyway (it's an automatic thing that RM do).

I guess the last "collectible" you won wasn't posted at all!

Yes, it was obvious last time it was never posted, didn't even bother marking it as despatched, and their messages were ridiculous. So this time, although it's a different seller, I'm wary of the same thing happening. I don't want it signed for so I can claim non delivery I want to at least increase the chance of my receiving the item I've won.
I've clicked lots of links on Ebay and Paypal but can't find their email address at all, surely it should show up somewhere.

I've just checked my own Paypal account and, yes, that's bizarre that I can't see the email address of where the money has gone.

There's no problem in messaging a buyer or seller after a transaction has been completed. If you message before a sale is complete however, then Ebay may see this as attempting to sell off Ebay.

That's one of the problems with getting a bargain on ebay. Sellers who sold it for far less than they wanted, pretend to send item and then claim it went missing.

Happened to me several times and the seller gets a nice negative from me for their efforts.

As far as I'm aware they block email and phone numbers and I know they now send out suspension warnings if you do try to send them, I don't want to get the seller into any kind of trouble.

Looks like I'm going to have to contact him and ask if he can send me a paypal money request as he can get my email from the payment confirmation, hopefully he'll agree to send it signed for.

    Thanks for every ones input.
