Hi My son is doing about ls doing sbout Landfill at school. Could you MSEers answer few questions about rubbish please.
1. How many adults inyour house?
2. How many children?
3. How many black sacks per week do you put out for the dustman?
4. How many bags of recycling do you put out per week? (not garden waste).

4 - 2 black bags, I dont use my recycle box there is just too much so we have a weekly trip to recycling centre

3) 1/2 (half a black bag a week)
4) we have a wheelie bin for recycling - this gets half filled over 2 weeks. All food waste/garden waste gets composted. Most Glass jars get kept for pickle/jam making.

4. We have four recycle boxes full. We have usually two full of plastic, one full of bottles and cans, one full of cardboard.

4. one big bag (equivalant of half a black bag) of paper and a box of metal and glass out for the recyling men once a fortnight
a box of carboard and a box of plastics goes to the supermarket recyling bins once a fortnight
and a small amount of council approved compostable waste (about half a carrier full I would imagine) goes into the green bin with the garden waste once a fortnight

A full wheelie bin - estimate 2 sacks a fortnight.

We also recycle garden waste (2 bags+ per week) as well as visiting the recycle centre with our glass, textiles and cartons.
