replacing sunvic valve head

My DDs ch is controlled by 2 Sunvic zone valves - 1 for the downstairs & 1 for the upstairs. The upstairs one sticks allowing the heating to stay on( this is a problem with these valves,I believe). Have stripped the head a few times but really want to replace the head/ actuator with say a Honeywell or similar - don't want to drain the system and replace complete valve. Is this possible & which one is best?

Actuator replacement is very easy a couple of screws to remove the unit and replace the wiring one at a time. Screwfix and toolstation etc sell them example;

Are you sure it is not the valve because they do get sticky ? I used to have these on my system and over time changed the motor heads / synchron motors / microswitches a few times but in the end changed the valves for Honeywells. You can only replace the motor head with a genuine Sunvic or suitable after market replacement, motor heads are not universal.0

I just want to know whether the Sunvic head CAN be interchanged with a-n- other head, ie, Honeywell??0

PS the whole system is only 3 years old, so I don't want to shell out £55 every time.0

No, the coupling is different. Sunvic is a thin centered coupling, Honeywell is fatter and off centre.diamond_dave wrote: »I just want to know whether the Sunvic head CAN be interchanged with a-n- other head, ie, Honeywell??You can only replace the motor head with a genuine Sunvic or suitable after market replacement, motor heads are not universal.0
