Car making metal noise

I understand this metal sound could come from anywhere, however base on the previous advisory on MOT, I have pinpointed the problem to the exhaust. The car has been making metal noise whenever the left hand wheel side hit some bump ie manhole/drainhole.

Corsa 2009 1.3 diesel 70k mileage

2014 - rear exhaust box corroded
2017 - Nearside Rear exhaust box casing corroded
2018 - Rear Exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases back box corroded. (7.1.2)

I will take it to the garage tomorrow, but just want to ask for some advise so I am prepare.

Does it sound like it is the problem? If so, base on normal wear and tear, does it need to be replace? If so. Which part and the cost???

Could be, could also be something else.

Exhausts are generally quite cheap to replace, especially if it's just the backbox. Maybe £100 ish.

Was the back box replaced in 2014? I'd presume so. So the original exhaust box lasted five years. The replacement's lasted five, too.

I'd definitely start by looking at the back box - I suspect a hanger's failed, and the exhaust is flapping about, poorly supported. If you don't replace the back box now, you'll find the front pipe fatiguing and snapping. The entire system may well need replacing now, but you will soon guarantee it'll need it...

My sis in law had quotes of £130 for an entire exhaust from the catalytic converter backwards on her Corsa of similar vintage.

Garage rang it's the front suspension coil spring broken. Both side.

    £200 total fix price

I had one front coil spring replaced, albeit on a different (but equally non-exotic car), for £142. £200 for two sounds very reasonable.

£200 for both springs is fair.

Worth asking how much to fix the exhaust as well while they are doing the springs.

That would explain the metal noise - the springs are made of metal.
