I really can't see how the alternator could be affected by the kind of impact we're talking about. Unfortunate coincidence of timing, and no more.0

Was any welding done during the repairs?0

Hi Nodding Donkey
I am waiting on the detail of the repairs. Why do you ask about welding?
Thanks

I would hazard a guess welding could have shorted out the electrics. I doubt it though.
More likely a coincidence that your alternator failed.0 -
Does the alternator show any signs of having been removed???0

Hi m0bov.
I'm not sure how I would tell.
I need to get the car mobile so looks like I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and repair it myself. Grrrr.0 -
Before any work is started, try to see if the bolts look clean. I wonder if its been swapped with another car!0
