Motorhome excess insurance

I am trying to find an insurance policy that will protect my motorhome hire excess. There are plenty of policies out there but I can't find one that protects against damage to 3rd Party vehicles. Can anyone help?

Thank you

You don't normally pay an excess for 3rd party claims, are you sure you have to for your motorhome?
  • Thank you for your reply. We had an accident last year and our Excess Insurance Policy only covered damage to the motorhome (of which there was none), not the car we had the altercation with. I've been smarter in checking policies this year and can only find similar policies, none of which cover your excess against a 3rd Party claim,

Your excess is nothing to do with 3rd party claims.

Hire charges normally include third party cover, and comprehensive cover for its own vehicle with a an excess (typically £1,000).

So, in a fault accident, the hirer's policy covers all damage to the TP, and all damage to the hire vehicle above the excess figure.

Excess Waiver insurance covers only the £1,000 which you would otherwise have to pay.
