Pay as you go meter
Hi guys,
I moved to an all electric one bedroom flat 10 days ago! And since then i am having problem with the pay as you go key meter ! 15£ lasts me 3 days while i still don't have any fridge , cooker or Washing machine! I live on my own and i dont turn the heating on the whole day! On monday i toped up 10£ and today (wednesday) morning i woke up to find no !lectricity in the flat! I tried asking my neigybourd as they got th! storage heating too and they said they only spend 10£ per week and their usage is more than mine as they got cooker friedge and Washing machines! I contacted british gaz but they were not helpful at all and they were saying the meter is absolutly fine. I reallt dont Know what to do now. Can anyone tell me how much they spend on electricity every week?

Have you contacted the supplier and had the account put into your name, been issued with a new key from them and had any possible debt zeroed ? Is there any debt on the meter ?0

How can any supplier assure you the meter is correct if they have not checked it?
You can request it to be checked. A charge may apply, but that will be refunded if a fault is uncovered.
Follow the supplier's complaint procedure if necessary.0 -

Is it rented, sometimes we read about an electric supply feeding more than one flat. £15 is ok for 3 days, depending on what is being used.0 -
Thanks for tour answers x
Yeah i did contact them ans they refuse to come check the meter saying that it's absolutly fine. It's a rented flat and i asked the neighbours who got pay as you go key and they Said it only coast them 10£ a week. Knowing that it coast me 15£ in 3 days while i have no washing machine and friedge , i can't even imagine how much it will coast me when i get them. Also i dont turn the heating on during the day , and if i do during the evening i juste heat my bedroom wich is not big.0 -

maya1711, if its an electric key meter press the blue button and scroll ( with key inserted ) to see screens "S " and " T " to see if you are paying off debts.. Debts can be loaded on prepay meters to be taken off at between £3.50 and £16 a week..Also standing charge debts can build up..seen on screen "A" as a debit0
