Myhermes or Parcel2Go?

At the moment I use Parcel2Go, but they recently lost an item and it is taking forever for them to process my claim.

I use Hermes for Parcel2Go as they are the cheapest and most convenient for me. Should I switch to Myhermes even though they are slightly more expensive, important factor is how long to claim for a missing parcel.

Would be especially interested in anyone who had made claims with Parcel2Go and Myhermes and the length of time it took to get a payout for a lost item.

From my experience of claims with Hermes, it can take a while for them to process a claim.

Once you've notified them that a parcel is missing, they usually want 48 hours to "look for it". They may extend this a couple of times. Then they will admit it's lost. Then you get the claim form. Once that's been returned to them they can take up to 14 days to process it. That's if there are no queries with the claim.

So anywhere from 3-4 weeks, including the time for the payment to get back onto your card.

The good thing is that it's all done online, the claim form is relatively simple, particularly if it's an Ebay item as you don't have to prove how much it cost, you just give the item number from Ebay.

Is the claim form completed online as well?

I don't want to have to post anything as that often leads to more delays.

Yes. They send you a link to it via email.

Myhermes has a myriad of different prices depending on how you book. Print in store is currently only £2.95 for up to 5kg and now increased insurance can be added too. Shutl via Ebay is £1 cheaper for up to 2kg 'small parcel' than booking on Hermes itself, however if your parcel is under 1kg then booking directly with Hermes is better and the small size restriction doesn't apply so a much bigger box can be used which on Shutl you would be charged a higher 'medium parcel' rate instead! None of it makes any sense.

Myhermes is also now on the cashback sites.

As for claiming I've only had a couple of problems with Myhermes and claim was very straightforward. After speaking to live chat they immediately sent me the claim form via email, filled it in and refund given within days. I've not had to make a claim via Shutl however they do have live chat (UK based) and they were very helpful in sorting out a problem, but like Parcel2go they are a 'middle man' who have to liaise with the courier so it will take longer to sort out any claim.

I haven't used P2go in ages, I did make a claim which I was given the choice of refund or credit with a bonus but this was several years ago so don't know if they still make that bonus offer.

Grateful for the replies, I'll be switching over to Myhermes, their claim process sounds infinitely more efficient than the ordeal I have gone through with Parcel2Go.
