The first thing I'd say is that she really needs to go to a shop and try things on and maybe get a proper fitting. Don't rely on online shopping for lingerie particularly as it'll probably be non refundable.


I find the assistants in Victoria's Secrets very helpful or John Lewis or M&S (although they sometimes want you to make an appointment). In my area there's a good independent shop too but these are few and far between. You could go with her if she needs help but maybe wait outside or you may get some strange looks.


Please don't go for Ann Summers. They're tacky and tarty IMO.

Thank you, I do agree, I have told her that she can find whatever she wants and I will buy it for her. It is 100% her decisions as it has to be something she feels comfortable in. I will not be buying it as a surprise for her.

I would love her to be able to go to the shop to browse and try on, but she suffers from severe agoraphobia and panic disorder, so that is something that will not be able to happen, hence the question for lesser known but good quality websites.

Also perhaps suggest she looks at camisoles and chemises - the fitting is less stringent and it sounds as though her choice isn't confined to supportive garments.

If she isn't very confident, is a bra and knicker set the best option? Did she suggest the bra? I would have thought she gets away without one so buying one would bring her focus to wearing one. Maybe a slip, or similar?

I think the bra confusion came from the first replied who suggested a site, but they cater pretty much solely with bras, there has never been any restrictions on what she chooses. Or maybe bevause i mentionedher boobs, the problem She has is that she feels as though she cannot fill them out, it doesn't help her when all the models on the site are full cheated. She has always been conscious about her breasts.

I have told her to find whatever she wants, there are no limits as this is solely her choice, but her first quick search just lead to the main sites where there was nothing suitable, hence me asking for some lesser known but reputable sites.

She did find a nice slip I think it was a while back, I tried to find it again but it's no longer sold.

Leading on from another previous reply, you could look into maybe a lace bralette set? Less emphasis on filling out a wired/shaped bra, they can be very form fitting and make her feel pretty. I know how she feels about filling out a bra, since having my kids I have no volume and no need for a bra so these bralette are much better

Search for soft cup bralette.
Etsy is an handmade place where you may be able to find something a bit different and beautiful for/with her, some sellers will customise too for a better fit with her measurements and no one has to leave the house

Good luck to you both, every gal deserves to feel good about herself no matter her shape, and it's lovely that you want to treat her like this. Wish my OH would get a clue lol x
