ESA/WORK ASSESMENT Help

Hi there,

Basically I've been on esa just short of two months, I have a work assessment today, the thing is my fit note runs out next week and I feel like I will be ready to go to work, do I seriously need to attend this assessment? If I don't what will be the repercussions? Will I recieve the esa up untill my fit note ends or will it be stopped tomorrow soon as I don't not attend.

This is all that I really need to know.

Should I ring them maybe? Anyone had any experience of this at all.

If you don't ring them, you'll be found fit for work for failing to attend, this could make claiming again at a later date very difficult. You need to ring DWP first to cancel your ESA claim and then ring the number at the top of the assessment letter and tell them you've just canceled your claim and won't be attending the assessment. Your money will stop the day you cancel the claim.
