Holiday Insurance for "chronic disease"

Does anyone know where I can get cheap(ish) holiday insurance that won't cost an arm and a leg (cos let's face it they ain't much use!) when I have recently been diagnosed with MS?
Holiday not booked yet, but freaking out that the insurance may be astronomical
TIA

Have you looked on comparison sites?
If they're too expensive, can you get it via work?
We have cover as part of my wife's work benefits package (taxable benefit, but worth it) and it disregards all medical issues.0 -
Or via your bank account?stevenhp1987 wrote: »Have you looked on comparison sites?

I found it really difficult when newly diagnosed. MS Society linked policy quote was the highest! I tried ringing companies but it is very upsetting repeating your medical history over and over and then either be refused or a quote more expensive than the cost of the holiday. So prepare yourself. Comparison site for annual policy is the best for me, less personal. My first policy post-diagnosis was via a packaged bank account, and didn't cost anything extra. 18 years in, many policies in between, currently have an annual policy with Aviva. Check out the recommended companies for pre -existing medical conditions on the forum. You will get a decent policy at an affordable price and enjoy the holiday. x0

I have 2 neurological conditions and get my travel insurance from Free Spirit or All Clear. Free Spirit is the only one I have had to claim on, and the process was very quick and the refund made in 9 days. I would recommend them.0

Useful to have comments on the claim. Does Free Spirit require you to give all medical history for the past 5 years (including GP visits) as All Clear does or just specific categories such as neurological?I have 2 neurological conditions and get my travel insurance from Free Spirit or All Clear. I haven’t tried to get travel insurance yet this year (I have a currently undiagnosed, possibly neurological condition, so I can’t get insurance at all at the moment) but from what I remember of the questions, it was mainly asking if I’m awaiting tests or inpatient treatment, naming all diagnosed conditions. It certainly didn’t ask about GP appointments for the last 5 years.0
