Arranging probate from outside UK

Hello,
I am joint executor with my brother for my fathers estate. We are on good terms and I have some experience with shares so would feel competent to complete the forms etc.
The estate is fairly large and will be liable to IHT (cash, shares, property, land) the only issue is that I live outside the UK. Do I need to be physically present to access the various accounts (there will be several) or will most of it be done by post?
I can travel to the UK fairly easily but obviously would prefer to only make a few trip. Just wondering what peoples views where and if it would make more sense to appoint a solicitor?
Thansk

If your brother is in the UK, I would reserve powers and let him do the all the basic stuff like visiting the banks. You can still assist and step in if things get too difficult for him.0

Why not do it online? See https://www.gov.uk/government/news/personal-applicants-can-now-apply-for-probate-onlineGoogling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0
