For someone who was asking a pretty basic question about currency exchange (no offence), you seem remarkably confident in your economic forecast!
My portfolio is only 15% managed foreign funds - the rest is a VLS 60 (70% of portfolio allocation) and an asian index ex Japan (10% of portfolio) - and I invest regularly so I'm not too worried, no. As far as I'm concerned, this is what I'm paying the fund managers to worry about. My only job is to keep investing regularly... does this seem niave? You can't be an expert in everything, despite having researched it and red a few books in investing.0 -
Nothing naive about your strategy. But knowing that you have no idea where exchange rates are going to go is an important part of adopting such a strategy. My portfolio is only 15% managed foreign funds - the rest is a VLS 60 (70% of portfolio allocation) and an asian index ex Japan (10% of portfolio) - and I invest regularly so I'm not too worried, no. I'm now wondering if I'm being absurdly niave... ?0
