My mum's laptop again... https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/75262311#Comment_75262311
Getting this same message. I swear she has not visited any dodgy website or downloaded anything. I have run Malwares Bytes, Adwcleaner and Hitman Pro found 5 tracking cookies but no threats. Please help. I can't figure out how to stop this.

Make sure she has uBlock Origin installed on Edge0

Look in add/remove programs and sort by installed date. If she's installed something dodgy it should be obvious (toolbars etc). Uninstall and then restart and run the same tools as previously.0

I can't see anything dodgy installed. I've also ran Zemana but that didn't find anything.
On closer look I have found it's called Win Erx03 and from a web addy called cloudfront.net. I believe it's only in Microsoft Edge and no other browser, so I'm guessing there is something that's attached it's self to this browser. Nothing pops up with any other browser and it's there straight away.
I'm stumped as what to do next.0 -
Maybe just the website she visits? Mum uses a competitions website and the adverts are rife.. Static and animated adverts and even a video with sound that you cannot get rid of.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

I never mess about.
Backup data
Wipe hard drive
Reinstall Windows
Reinstall programs
Doesn't take me long.
Nice fast computer.
People don't seem to be happy with my solutions. Not sure why. Sometimes I think they don't know how to do it.0 -

Information about Erx03 here, including how to get rid of it from Edge.
Last ditched effort mentioned basally manually deletes Edge, then reinstalls the Windows 10 package.0 -
Take the thing off the poor old dear!0

Latest on the win erx03 situation... I did method one as suggested here https://www.2-spyware.com/remove-win-erx03.html and blocked all cookies. Everytime Edge was opened it wouldn't open to the home page (https://www.msn.com) but tried to open with win erx03 redirect addy (cloudfront). It kept saying can't find this address.
This morning, Edge is opening the homepage (MSN) and no pop ups even though I haven't done anything new since last night.
I would be hopeful it has gone but I thought that last month.
I will attempt the second method of removing Edge. If Edge is lost entirely, it's not a big deal, there's other browsers, as long as this nasty is gone.0 -

Use Chrome with an Ad blocker, that should help in the future.0
