Developer said their help to buy scheme is about to expire?

Hi everyone,

My husband and I are trying to get a house in London under Help to Buy - Equity Loan scheme. We've actually found a property that we both like, but now the agent told us that the developer's help to buy scheme is going to due on 16th of March, and wishes us to finish all the purchase procedures by 15th of March, which is clearly a really intense time frame. I've been looking online and couldn't find any info regarding this topic. So far as I know the developer has no other property listed on the market in London, which kind of made me believe that they are not willing to extend their Help to Buy registration as this is one of the last few units they are still selling. But at the same time I also feel that it's just an excuse for them to put pressure on us? I mean is that really a thing?? We are both first time buyers in UK so would really appreciate some experienced advise regarding to this issue before we make any decision in rush... Thank you very much!

Warmest,

Anna

If their HTB funds allocation this (April to March) year is running out and they aren't applying for an allocation for next year they are correct.

In addition, if a property is build-complete or close to it, completion in six or seven weeks is perfectly normal.
