Home Buyers protection insurance advice

Hi all,
Just had an offer accepted on our first home. I'm a complete novice but from a chain point of view it seems straight forward. Our Vendor has put an offer in on an empty property that is through the same estate agent and provided that offer is accepted I'd hope things should progress but obviously anything can happen in the next weeks/months so i'm not getting excited just yet.
Anyway I've found adverts online for home buyers protection insurance that claim to help recover costs lost in the event of being gazumped or our vender pulling out etc.
I havent spent anything yet however we are seeing a mortgage advisor which will be taking a fee and obviously got the conveyancing fee's and survey fee's that will soon add up.
Has anybody bought any sort of home buyers protection and have any experiences with it?
for around £50 it feels like it would give me peace of mind. Obviously i know not every scenario is going to be covered but just looking to see if anyone has any advice/opinions
Thanks.
Martin.
