When does it end?

Options
I’ve been trying to recover from bad credit for a few years now

I’m a home owner but mortgage free (from in heritence)

I pay my utilities on time
And any debt I had or have is being repaid or has been repaid

I have two credit card
Vanquis for a year
Tesco for a few months

Both pointless credit limits but I’m using to try and build

I’m on the voters and have resided for 6+ years
All my current accounts are 10+ old

I have no CCJs and never have but yet I still am seeing very little improvement

It feels when I look into eligibility I have something really harming me

My clear score has improved from 192 to 301 in 12 months and been very static for ages

Thanks for reading
Anyone else feel as frustrated

You're now in a much better place. Your credit score doesn't reflect how lenders see you so stop looking or worrying about that.

Have you looked at the data on each of your three files? That is what lenders will be looking at.

    Thanks

I do try to ignore it but I feel I’m totally treading water

I plan to step up the ladder in 24-30 months and feel like that’s just not gonna happen :(

I know I was previously awful and stupid but I’ve really knuckled down

Is there anything I am doing wrong or could be doing right?

It feels like I’m black listed I haven’t made many credit searches but when I have any decent lenders almost dismiss me before I’ve finished the application
  • Does your file have any defaults?
Or is it a history of late or missing payments?

No missed payments in 18 months

A couple of defaults was about 7 most are very old or dropped off think I have two left now visible

These are all in repayment arrangements and one has 9 months left and one has 3 months

I totally accept i caused this car crash but feel I’m displaying great financial behaviour now

Until the defaults drop off you won't see your score go any higher I'm afraid

The unsettled defaults are going to deter mainstream lenders. They won't want to lend while they see you haven't yet repaid your existing creditors.

Once you've cleared these, you can start to rebuild some cleaner credit history.

    Thanks all

didn’t realise when so old they’d affect, ill maybe pay them back sooner as the 9 payment one could be achieved in 3/5 months easily
  • There is no blacklist.
Likewise there are no scores or ratings.

Rebuilding credit history can take a couple of years to make any impact

This bit is a bit concerning, ‘any debt I had or have is being repaid’
Why don’t you get completely out of debt and live debt free for a while just to make sure you are free of your bad habits before searching for cards with higher credit limits? I understand you have a mortgage free life and if you had got yourself into that situation it would be highly likely you would be capable of handling your finances. You have been handed a great asset that somebody worked hard for. please don’t spoil it by believing you are richer then you are.
