I need travel insurance advice for expensive equipment...

Hello there, I am going to India in February and have been looking to get insurance for my camera equipment. My equipment comes to around £2500 in total so would be looking to get cover for that if possible.

I have looked at lots of insurance companies but I have not found one that is suited for me. They all seem to breakdown the costs of cover differently. Most of the insurance companies that I found who provide high personal item cover only cover £300-500 on camera equipment with the majority of cover only covering clothing.

Ideally would be nice to find insurance that covers all the general travel stuff to, including medical stuff etc. But mainly worried about my equipment.

Have you looked at a policy for professional photographer?

Is it all insured as a stand alone / high value with your home insurance company?

I currently do not have home insurance, I am about to part-rent a studio starting February and we are looking to get insurance for that. I have been looking for specialist insurance plans but they seem to be all one-year long and I feel that they aren't worth going for if I am already going to be getting insurance for our studio in February.

Another issue I am having looking for insurance is looking for a provider that is trusted. I am seeing a lot of companies receive terrible reviews on TrustPilot but then great reviews on Feefo (which I had not even heard of until today).

There is no point relying on reviews that focus on pre-claim service levels. What is important is the post-claim experience. Insurance that doesn't pay out when it should is not worth having.

Yes that's exactly what I mean. I have been specifically looking for good reviews on post-claims. I cannot find any insurance provider that has the terms that I need plus good post-claim responses. So I was wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for me. Thanks though.
