default

Hello.

I have 2 default in my credit report.

They were both generate for debt collection company, no for the original lender.

One is Lowell for an Aqua card, and the other one is Link Financial for a Barclaycard.

The thing is, I have started a DMP before the company sell these debts to the debt collection companies, and yet they put a default in my credit record.

My question is: but that time I was doing regular payment. Why do they report a default?
In any case, the default is no with them, it is with Aqua card or Barclaycard.

Thanks.

  • Hi maxdmp and welcome to the forum :)

In the long-term, a default is preferable to your credit file being marked with an AP or DMP marker. It means that the toxic accounts will be removed from your credit file earlier. An early default is a good thing when on a DMP.

  • Because the accounts are in default due to the DMP.
