Hi all, currently bankrupt, started end of April 2017,
someone can please help me regarding online self assessment, just went to submit my return of 2017-18, when i go to self assessment home page, i see on left corner name written THE OFFICIAL RECEIVER. and when i click to fill the details, in personal details, already written in Last name is OFFICIAL RECEIVER, and his address in address part, but at last it shows my post code.
The form says if address is wrong, click yes or no, or change personal details.
Now i dont know what should i do, i need to fill the tax return and send online at the end of this month, so please can someone guide me, should i leave it like that and fill the rest.
anyone had same experience,? this tax year 17-18, is before the bankruptcy start date.
regards

sorry bankruptcy started on end of April 2018, so self assessment before the bankruptcy.
can you please guide me, should i leave these details of prefilled or should i remove and put my details in self assessment tax return file.0 -
I'd leave it as is, then HMRC can chase the Offical Receiver for payment instead of you
. Technically the OR now stands in your (old) shoes. HMRC will issue you with a new shoes (UTR) in due course.
I can't remember what I did TBH, but filing to stop any silly nonsense with fines makes sense. It is also risk free, any tax liability will fall into the bankruptcy and any refund will go to the OR.BBC WatchDog “if you are struggling with an unfair parking charge do get in touch”
Please then tell us here that you have done so.0 -
anyone has experience regarding filing tax return year before bankruptcy year, i had financial problem, so went bankrupt at the end of April 2018, still not cleared why the name showing of THE OFFICIAL RECEIVER on my tax return self assessment online 2017-2018.
So, can someone please can help me, do i continue filing tax return online with pre filled last name as THE OFFICIAL RECEIVER, and their address.
what does it mean, should i submit tax return online or i am exempted because of bankruptcy now, only i send the paper file tax return of 2018-2019.
someone please advise, thanks in advance0 -
