Hello,
I have a house alarm at home which seems to keep going off and before anyone suggests, I'm certain its not a burglar trying to get in haha. I think one of the sensor's is faulty. we have had the battery's replaced, all sensors cleaned over, done a walk test with the sensors but cant catch which one it is which keeps setting it off. checked all the internal wiring to see if theirs anything shorting it but just cant figure it out. Just wondering how you can view the event log on for which sensor is the one going off and then gives me a place to start investigating.
System I have is Accenta Gen 4. Appreciate any help you can give!

A lot of alarm control units will have a set of LEDs corresponding to each zone/PIR so when the alarm goes off the light will flash on the unit telling which zone triggered the alarm. I suggest you read the manual that came with the alarm.0

I did, Spent all morning looking at it. There is no LED panel on the model I have. only spot I've figured it might be in is going into the engineer menu on the pad and it hiding somewhere in there.
(it wont let me post with links being a new user)

Unless i did just not see it and it is in that manual somewhere0 -
UPDATE: I've now found the event log option in the user manual, page 30
looks like its telling me when the alarm goes off but not what one is setting it off, or from what I can figure out anyway...0 -
The Gen4 range seems to have some with LCD panel, some without.
If they're interchangeable, maybe upgrade current one to one with a display, and that will show you?
Failing that, cover one sensor up at a time, in sequence, repeat the walk test and see which one, when covered, does not trip the alarm.0 -
Here is your link made live: -
Using the engineer access and assuming that the info on page 30 (event log) does not tell you which zone set off the alarm (manual is not specific enough on this point) try doing an OMIT, where you lock out one zone (but only for one setting period) at a time until you find the faulty one. Problem is (as I found out when I was fault finding a neighbour's system) how long do you wait for "no fault". If it happens frequently, this is a good way to find the faulty zone but if it is every three days, you could be going for weeks! I am assuming it is PIR in the zones and not magnetic door switches.0 -

This forum breaks long links (inserts a space), so your edit is the best way to resolve this problem.0
