Wow. Just wow. 47% of reviews are 5 stars, 38% are 1 star, almost no reviews in the 2,3,4 star range. That's a clear sign of an awful company who post fake 5 star reviews to try and boost their overall rating.

We used grpcompositedoors.com. They supply only; I fitted it myself. Probably not fitted as best as it could be, and due to me adjusting things wrong there's a slight gap between the door and the frame allowing a breeze. And over time it keeps dropping so I have to adjust the hinges to lift it back up again. Overall I'm happy with it, but reading what I just wrote maybe I shouldn't be...! Still sounds a lot better than a rockdoor though.
  • we have been installing Rockdoors for 20 plus years so far and in that time have had very few issues most of the issues are caused by bad installation

Ask yourself this question if your product is so much better than a rockdoor why do you have to keep adjusting the hinges you have bought one of the grp doors i refered to earlier maid with Nhanya slabs from china .We have installs i can take you to which as i say are 20 years old any company making over 800 doors a week is going to have problems we dont seem to have many of them

GRP composite doors here too. Had my builder who was doing work on my house fit it 3 years ago and it’s been perfect, air tight and has not needed any adjustments. I am sure with these type of products generally how the opening has been measured up and how well the door has been fitted makes a big difference and is a significant variable.

Go for a trustpilot score of at least 9 or over and stay away from the large nationals - i've heard so many horror stories of when it goes wrong they just don't care! I got a new composite door installed by SEH BAC and it's gorgeous. Yale locks n all. But definitely ask around and get quotes from different places, it's surprising how much some will up charge. Solidor are a good range from what I hear :D

I used stevenswood recently for a window and a door, they were cheaper than other places and I cannot fault the quality.

If your fitting it yourself, accurate measuring of the hole to begin with is half the battle.

Fitting is relatively straight forward, plenty of videos on youtube but the key element is to make sure that its all square on all axis's, might even be why the above poster is having a bit of issue with adjustments.

    Hope this helps.
  • We have a Solidor and love it. We were actually broken into because we have a rubbish porch door, and they could not make it through the Solidor.

Having said that, be very careful with the decorative glass panels in the doors - they smashed the glass panel in the middle and reached their hands around to turn the thumbturn - it is the perfect height to do this. I would recommend you don't have the glass panel in the middle, or don't have the thumbturn and instead have a inside keylock, or request laminate glass in the middle panel - I wish we had known this before we bought the door.
