Composite Door problem

Hello
I had a brand new composite door installed 7yrs ago. I have just noticed that the door lacquer is peeling.
I have asked the installer to come and have a look at it and he has said there is nothing he can do. The supplier went out of business and its no longer under guarantee.
I have checked my paperwork and there is nothing with the guarantee within it (and Im a paper hoarder so I know I haven't thrown it away) but in my head Im sure he said it was a 10yr guarantee. I had my windows done at the same time and I remember him saying 10yrs for the door and 5yr gtee for the windows.
My question is-
a)Is there anything I can do to get the door repaired or
b)replaced under its guarantee
C) if the door has to be replaced can I just get a new door off the shelf or do I have to replace the whole door & frame unit?
Any help appreciated.
Many thanks

If the manufacturer has gone out of business, any warranty has likely gone with them.
If the lacquer is peeling have you thought about sanding and re coating it?1 -
Its not a wooden door, its a composite door - can I sand one of those? (thought it was plastic?)Thank you to everyone who has helped me MoneySave0

No you can’t sand it.
Was the guarantee with the manufacturer or supplier? Was it insurance backed? If not then it’s pretty much worthless.0 -

There is no insurance.
Fitter only guarantees his work for 5 years.
He is unable (unwilling) to tell me who the supplier/manufacturer is.
He claims the door only had a 5yr guarantee.
He says he has no paperwork to provide to me (as I have asked for a copy) as I thought it was a 10yr guarantee.Thank you to everyone who has helped me MoneySave0 -
You say the lacquer's peeling.
If it's been coated in lacquer, why is that not repairable?0 -
You can rub down and paint the door with the correct paint for a cheap fix0
