What sort of car? We used to run old bangers but now retired we buy 2-3 year old cars, kept them for a few years and then get another one. We often go for ex-motability cars as they are well maintained, usually have some warranty left and we need an automatic.
Currently have had a Ford, 13 reg for two years, keep it serviced by local good Ford garage to keep the free European recovery going.0 -
I'm thinking of a new or nearly new (say 1 yr old) smallish SUV e.g Evoke, XC40 etc
I know that buying a new car is not strictly money saving, however I am trying to see how much money I can save by seeing how far people usually manage to negotiate.
Does anyone know if there are key times when dealers are looking for sales e.g. end of periods, monthly targets etc...0 -
End of the month, end of the quarter, etc. You may get something decent end of Jan or end of Feb. March is usually better for dealers due to new registrations.
I think, that the best deal would be to take finance (extra manufacturer contribution) and the withdraw from or settle finance. There's a chance that brand new car with discount will be cheaper than nearly new.0
