    Be aware that by giving your children this amount of savings, this means they will probably not be able to get many, if any, state benefits, until their savings have reduced below the various set levels.

    It may not be an issue for you or them, but "too much savings" is currently effecting my son...

    Thanks for that but hopefully that shouldn't affect our family. They are at uni and we are one of those couples who earn just enough to never qualify for anything lol
