Hi
Okay
Daughter myself and grandson going to WDW in May
Airfares paid for by daughter - we transferred the money to her - with her Debit Card
I paid for upgrades to Premium Economy on my CC value 300.00
Daughter insured including schedules airline failure
I am insured but not for SAFI
So
Where do we stand in the event of Airline Failure I have funds to re-book flights - as of yet nothing has happened but TC have issues several profit warnings so I am covering my bases ahead of time.
Am I covered by the fact I upgraded using CC
Am I covered because my daughter is the lead passenger on the booking, but we both have separate insurance policies
thanks in advance:j:beer:

Personally I wouldn't have thought that you'd have any section 75 coverage for the flights if the upgrades were purchased separately from the flights themselves.
Chargeback for each transaction, on the basis of services not received, is a more likely prospect though.
On the face of it (without sight of the policies) it sounds like your insurance wouldn't reimburse costs for airline failure but your daughter's would, for her and anyone else named on the policy....
ATOL may also be an option - you might wish to read up on the advice given when Monarch Airlines collapsed in 2017 for background info: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2017/10/monarch-airlines-stops-trading---latest-info-and-your-rights/0 -
I know my insurance will not pay out as I asked.
ATOL not an option as its flight only
I thought about getting another insurance package but that is coming out at 100.00 Plus so to be honest for a flight that cost 369 hardly seems worth it- I will swallow the loss.0 -
I think TC are a long way from going under. The issued a profit warning saying that the expected profit for 2018 would be £30 million less than expected but they are still looking at a £250 million profit!
I’ve got a holiday booked with them and I really think it will be fine but I paid using s credit card just in case.0 -
You could consider TGWS in the event of UJIK, but as for BGSW, you will have to resort to HYSQ.0
