So whats the story? I contacted the pensions ombudsman and they are looking into it. How do I make a claim with the FSCS?0
-
ESRG or any other name they have went by is not recognised on the FSCS web site. When I putin ESRG or the other names they have went bu they do not come up as companies who have went into liquidation or stopped trading. Due to this you cannot take your claim forward so it looks like it good bye to our money. Even if we do get something after APJ take of their 30% plus vat you need to pay tax on the money and no one can tell me if you pay tax on the whole amount of the compensation or on what you receive after APJ have taken their cut. So it looks like if you had £100,000 invested and you got 100% back, APJ would take around 45% then tax at 20% leaves not a lot. Infact out of £100,000 you could end up with as little as £10,0000

yes please do as a matter of urgency. my email is anthonybezzina@btinternet.com
Look forward to receiving and will get back you with the fscs response as soon as possible.0 -
Hi Grant79
That's not entirely true the fscs still pay out on unregulated schemes if you have incurred a financial loss and there is enough evidence to support this.
There is a process whereby the look into everything for example who gave you the advice to invest in this scheme in the first place. This might be a firm that were regulated. They also award compensation on projections i.e. what your pension would have been worth at retirement age if you had not invested with them. Therefore, you could get back much more than your initial investment.
I am currently using a firm of solicitors (not APJ) and yes they do take a % but they take the headache out of dealing with your claim via the fscs and if you factor in you might be awarded more than your investment then you could still receive a substantial amount. The way I see it is something is better than nothing.
The key is for me to run past the fscs with any support docs anyone can forward me to support that we can prove and the fscs can be certain that a loss has been incurred.
I can then if you want refer you all to my current solicitors to take on your individual cases or you can do this direct with the fscs yourself and cut out any % being taken from any awards given.0 -
also you shouldn't have to pay any personal tax as this award from the fscs is a compensation award not pension monies, as your pension monies have already been lost they are gone.0

Hi All
Just thought I would let you know that the FSCS have finally paid out on my claims for the loss of my investment monies into The Pearl Pension Scheme. This will at least give you some hope for compensating you all fas well for your losses. If you haven't put in a claim already with the FSCS you can send me an email to anthonybezzina@btinternet.com and I will introduce you to my contact (who I highly recommend) and he will hopefully take your claim forward and bring you the same success I have had.0 -

Well done, that is good news.
Was the payout because you used the advice of a regulated IFA? Which of the parties you dealt with was regulated? Please provide some more details on this.0 -
