Tenancy Agreement/ Credit Score Query

Sorry for the essay but would really appreciate any advice!

I’m looking at renting a flat with my partner and friend for the next 2 years. After which my partner and I will have saved enough to get a mortgage together.

I was wondering if having my name on the tenancy for the rented flat would affect my credit score? As it stands I live at my mum’s where I’ve been for the past 5 years and she is happy for me to technically remain living there aka pay council tax, electoral roll etc.

When looking at a mortgage I’m wondering whether it’s more favourable or makes no difference to have been at my mums for 7 years as opposed to the rented place for 2 years.

Also wondering whether it’s allowed to put the tenancy of the rented flat down in just my partner and friends names? I would send them my share of rent/bills each month. I’d read online about being classed as a permitted occupier so the landlord/agency know I reside there but I’m not named on the tenancy agreement. Does anyone have any further info of this?

They are both fine with me not being listed on the tenancy and also for all bills to be in their names. I got totally screwed over living with an ex before hence living at home for 5 years and the defaults are due to drop off my report in the next 12 months so I’m trying to be super careful.

Am I just being OTT and it won’t affect my credit score?

You won't be "technically" living at your mother's you will be living elsewhere. Personally I'd be on the electoral register for where I'm actually living and have all my bank accounts, bills, etc registered to that address.
