What did you find out when looking at Prinndogs' thread?

Having read everything on Prinndogs' thread I note he is further down the line than me, is unsure whether the case is open or not and resides in the same part of the world as me.

What do you think I should be taking from his thread?

The defendant has received the SAR from PPS but it included no details about the VRN with PPS claiming no personal data is entered into the machine. What about the defendant's money? Is this an avenue to pursue?
Yes. Your VRN is your personal data so insist.

The defendant sent a response to BW Legal insisting on knowing the details of the VRN and received the response attached.

As a newbie myself this could be faulty advice but...their correspondance to you states they are persueing you as the driver and not as the keeper under POFA.

Have you told them that you was driving?

If not, I don't see how they intend to persue you...?

The defendant's initial, naive, response was to explain what happened when they parked there.

I did the same thing. It's depressing that being honest only gets you punished...

It doesn't really matter if Prinndog is further down the line than you - you just need to read the start of the thread. There are loads of PPS threads going. Other users, aside fron Prinndogs and DammitChloe are:

    SingStar101

    Justice13075

    phoenixfreespirit

    Matilda13

    Palec

They are all at various stages.

And please (please!) refer to yourself as "I", not the defendant - you've admitted driver liability, you are suitably anonymised and there are enough roboclaims from PPS to make you suitable anonymous too :)

Why ask BW Legal, a bit pointless; they always reply with that template response and they hold NOTHING by way of data about the PDT machine payments.

Send a SAR by email (as per the NEWBIES thread where this is explained) direct to the parking firm's DPO (also explained in the NEWBIES thread), insisting on the data from the machine.

State that this must include the payment you made (or the partial record if it failed to register fully) and the VRN recorded against it (even if a close match and not exact, or if an error code appeared). Tell them they can partially redact other VRNs on the listing, but not the times of payments or machine identifier, and they must state how many PDT machines they interrogated for this data, and show all listings in the half hour after your car arrived even if some machines show no payments made for hours, due to this fault:
faulty machine accepted payment but issued no ticket. The defendant, being overheard by another car park user at that same time, stated that the machine had been playing up for a few days.

Alternatively, you need to DPO to confirm that he/she has interrogated the data held in all the machines on site and has found no payments at all and the machines were clearly broken that afternoon. That is the only reason for a nil return of data, to this specific enquiry. PUSH THEM FOR THIS DATA.

Did the driver leave a note on the car to say that the machine was not working?
