Hi All
Just after some advice as I have just moved into a House where the Bathroom door opens striaght onto the kitchen, I have heard that its now law to have a passage of wall between these rooms, I have heard that you can apply for grants from the council to help pay for the work, Is this true, any advice will be helpful

It was a problem years ago, but not for a long time. I doubt there are grants available as it's no longer against building regs.:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:A

I think the ruling is that you have to have an extractor fan in the bathroom/toilet in this situation.

Is that still the case even though the bathroom has a window.0

a room that is converted to or built as a kitchen or bathroom now has to have an extractor fan afaik. that's for the extraction of damp air.
nothing wrong with a bathroom next to a kitchen though, according to building regs or hygiene. smells don't carry disease, hands do.0 -
Thanks for the advice real13140

IIRC there is only a need for one door between the kitchen and the bathroom if there is a wash basin in the bathroom.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0
