 Lets start with Barclays, I went into Barclays in our local town on 12th Oct completed a form to start a cashminder account and provided some ID which they said would all be sent away and i should hear within a week.
Called and popped in many times over next 3 weeks as not heard, fobbed off everytime, its not showing yet but you will hear soon, finally heard yesterday (4 weeks later!!!!). In meantime i had given up, i needed the account set up quickly so have opened a Co-operative account, over the phone and was set up properly within 5 days - Fantastic:j
Secondly Natwest, my 16 year old son set up a basic account(cash plus i think!) online a few months ago and i thought it strange when a cheque book came through. He had one occasion to write a cheque and it took a while to be presented so he thought it had already been taken out and it bounced when it was presented causing a £38 fee:eek: , then 2 days later it was presented again and bounced again another £38 fee:mad: . Son phoned the bank this morning and was told it was the Banks fault because under 18s shouldn't have a chequebook anyway . Luckily they are refunding his charges but it has caused a lot of worry and stress for Son and us.
