Wait for confirmation in the post from the Court on any stipulation when this must be paid by

If you want the ccj removed from your record then you need to pay it off in full within a month of the date of judgement

I get the following message when I put the case reference into Trustonline - ‘Case number invalid or not found on the public register’ and it won’t let me proceed any further than that.

Do I take this to be a good sign?

Don't bother spending money on this now you know the news!

(You search the register for judgements using your personal details, not ref numbers)

Thanks Quentin. Despite losing I’m content in the knowledge that this cost NCP significantly more money than it has cost me through this process!!

    Paid up.... very reluctantly!

How do I now go about getting the CCJ removed from the register?

Absolutely astounds me that these !!!!!!!s can be awarded full £264 for an overstay worth less than £1. An utter joke.

Well for a start, you weren't there to argue against their excessive costs claim.

That's just one point. Because you weren't there, you have no idea what statements, true or otherwise, were made by the claimant's representative and you were in no position to dispute them.

I’m not sure what else I could have added on the day that wasn’t already written down in the defence and witness statement?

Clearly I could have countered factual errors but the defence as such was in the information submitted to the court. As a layman I can’t really add much more.

Besides, the reason for non attendance ended up being due to the court striking out the claim initially and plans being made that couldn’t be changed without significant financial penalty and a lot of heartache....

Did you get a receipt? I believe you send this to the court but I am only going on what I have read on the forum. Someone else may/will know better than me and should advise now I have isolated the question.

You will need to send evidence of your payment to the court. A receipt is the best evidence but you can send something like a card statement as long as it shows who the payment is to.
