Please help! Parking fine at McDonald Gatwick

Hi all,
I was wandering if you can give me some advice on this matter please. Today the registered keeper received a parking penalty for parking for 7 minutes at McDonalds Gatwick, it was actually my husband who was driving & had parked there, we live less then 5 minutes away from this McDonalds, but usually use the Salford one has it’s much easier, but on this occasion has we were on our was home from a pantomime my son needed food,
it was 10.47pm at night & my husband turned into McDs to find a barrier in front of him which last time we visited this McDs wasn’t there it threw him abit thinking the carpark was closed, he is registered disabled ( but no blue badge) he panicked, ( he does suffer from stress & anxiety, & won’t even use a drive through due to this too he didn’t know what to do so parked in the disabled bay while I went in ordered the food,
the disabled bays were all empty, no cars either side of us & in all from the moment we arrived til we left was 7 minutes! my husband stayed in the car while I bought the food,
we then recieved this parking penalty through the post for parking in disabled spot without permission, my husband has never had a parking fine in all the years (35) he’s been driving, & is now had an anxiety attack over the stress of this,
The penalty shows a photo of the car, & time we were there, which was just 7 minutes! I know it’s probably easier to just pay the fine, but I do think it very unfair to get a ticket like this we didn’t even see anything about you could be fined at all not that we were looking around, just wanted to grab our crying son some food before we went home,
please if anyone can help or should we just pay this fine, thank you for any help given

Hi to you. Your first job is to paragraph your post above.
People will not read a wall of text0 -
You might want to edit your post so that you don't make it clear who was the driver (e.g. "the registered keeper has received a letter, but they were not the driver"). This will be really important later down the line if you plan not to pay.
Which parking company is it?
Have you had an opportunity to read the NEWBIES thread at the top yet? It's really helpful in terms of how to go about making appeals, etc. I know it is stressful getting these types of letters, but the NEWBIES thread is a good resource and walks you through step by step.Natwest OD - Start: £1,500 Current: £1,500 | Creation Loan - Start: £2,152.33 Current: £2,082.90 | Barclaycard CC - Start: £5,242.42 Current: £5,416.45 | Novuna Loan - Start: £8,598.43 Current: £8,366.04 | Tesco CC - Start: £9,420.22 Current: £9,885 | Northridge Car - Start: £15,584 Current: £15,017

Hi, It was MET parking services, have had a little look at the newbie thread, but not completely x0

Ok thank you for the advice x0

It looks like MET Parking Services are a member of the BPA, so if the registered keeper has appealed to MET, which would no doubt have been unsuccessful (do not mention who was driving in your appeal), then POPLA is an option. You'll need to read Post 3 in the NEWBIES thread.
It would also be worth googling parking grace periods too.Natwest OD - Start: £1,500 Current: £1,500 | Creation Loan - Start: £2,152.33 Current: £2,082.90 | Barclaycard CC - Start: £5,242.42 Current: £5,416.45 | Novuna Loan - Start: £8,598.43 Current: £8,366.04 | Tesco CC - Start: £9,420.22 Current: £9,885 | Northridge Car - Start: £15,584 Current: £15,017

Thank you will give it a read now x0

I doubt the PCN has the (POFA 2012 Schedule 4) 9(2)f warning that the registered keeper can be liable. No asking what that is; the NEWBIES thread tells you about the POFA and links to the Act - see 9(2)f.Parking fine at McDonald Gatwick
Therefore, the appellant will win at POPLA stage as long as the driver is never identified, by talking about 'no keeper liability'.
Use the template appeal in the NEWBIES thread first, to MET. No copying it here and asking 'is it this one?' Please noooooo, never again!!
Search the forum for MET Gatwick POPLA and you'll have what you need for the second stage win.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
