Replying to PCN with an Invoice

Hi,

I had a PCN a few years back (2015/16) and found a thread on here with a template letter to a generic private parking company basically saying any letters sent in response to the one I am sending you now, will include an invoice of X amount due to the time it takes for me to deal with the matter etc. I used this technique and they never contacted me again..

Recently my Mum has received a PCN and I wanted to help her out but I am struggling to find this (or anything similar) template letter on this site.

Any one able to link me, attach it or point me in the right direction? Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

The scammers have six years to try court, so don't write your previous PCN off yet. We are currently dealing with at least one PCN from 2013 on here.

Please read the sticky thread for NEWBIES then send the blue txt appeal template you will find there in post 1.
If/when it is rejected, continue to read up on what to next.

The NEWBIES is just underneath where you clicked on the newthread.gif button.

Common acronyms can be found in post 5. I suggest you print them off or write them down for reference.

You should also complain to the landowner if you haven't already, and also complain to your/your Mum's MP about this unregulated scam.

I know the one you mean!

Some PPCs roll over as soon as they see the NEWBIES thread appeal. BPA firms in particular, there are several who are easy to beat.

BUT if it's an IPC firm there is no appeal worth trying, but here's an idea:

YOU could appeal (YOUR NAME, YOUR ADDRESS), not explaining your connection but just saying:

    Dear Sirs,

I refer to your PCN number xxxxxx and this is my appeal:

There was no contravention and I require evidence of your allegation and photos of the signs you are relying on, to make an informed decision.

You may write to me once with this evidence and let me know about my further appeal options - POPLA or IAS - or to cancel the charge.

    yours faithfully,

    Your name
    Your address

Keep it simple. The idea is to trick them into writing to you.

If this works, even with an IPC firm, it will mean they will be unable to revert back to Mum if they don't realise their mistake, and if you are sued, you have an absolute defence. And it would be too late for them to hold your Mum liable as keeper, as they would have missed the boat for keeper liability.

Don't name the PPC on here yet, if you fancy trying the 'appeal from someone who was neither driver nor rk' trick!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
