I have a relative that I was talking to about my tax return the other day and he let slip to me that he has been getting a regular payment of £50 to his business account for the last 2 years while working part time employed. This 50 has been his only earning self employed. He has never done a tax return as he thinks he doesn’t need to. I told him he has to go legit but he thinks if he does he is in trouble. Can one of you give him some advice so I can show him please?
Thanks guys.:money:

he is in trouble for all receipts before April 2017
after April 2017, his receipts could be covered by the £1,000 trading allowance if they genuinely relate to payment in return for him undertaking self employed "work"
if you are that bothered by it, simply report him to HMRC an let them decide if they are bothered, rather than you blunder around with only partial info to hand0
