Supplier taking payment without taking over supply
In October I attempted to move from Economy Energy to Outfox the Market which at the time was the best value supplier suggested by MSE.
I have noticed that for the last 3 months both Economy Energy and Outfox have been collecting DD payments. According to EE Outfox never took over my supply.
Outfox seem to be a very incompetent operator and have sent multiple and confusing emails about direct debits etc.
I don't really want to have anything to do with Outfox and want to get my money back from them and will then move from Economy to a more reputable supplier.
Outfox are very hard to get in touch with. Has anyone had any success with a situation like this?
Thanks.

You are free to ditch & switch any time (assuming you are not in debt abd accepting that early exit fees may apply)
You will be charged by each supplier for the energy you used whilst they were supplying you (and any additional associated charges as per the ts & cs you agreed to abide by)0 -
Just double-check that the supply didn't transfer:
https://findmysupplier.energy/
If it didn't then cancel the DD to OFTM and claim the payments back through your bank under the Direct Debit Guarantee. Send them an email ensure your account is closed and switch cancelled.0 -
Many thanks.
According to that my supplier is "Foxglove Energy Supply Limited"
Is that another name for OFM. In that case it seems that EE didn't close my account or send me a final bill, and I've been unfair on OFM (although I still think they are chaotic).
In this case I presume I have to pursue EE. This might be tricky given they have gone bust but I assume I can get the money back through OVO/ OFGEM?0 -
Yes Foxglove is the parent company of OFTM.
You will need to persuade OVO to produce a final bill and then refund whatever credit is left. I'd cancel the DD in the meantime so they can't take any more.0 -
Yep, Foxglove Energy are indeed Outfox the Market.
EE accounts have now been passed to OVO under the Supplier of Last Resort process. And as OVO have said they’ll honour credit balances for existing and former EE accounts) it’s probably best just to contact them directly to see where they are with sorting out final bills etc.0 -
Thank you all. I will do as suggested and contact OVO next week.0
