I m a bit of fan of "bigclive " but in this video he s out of his depth and should remove it. He won t allow comments on his videos, at least I can t find a way to comment , so I have no way of asking him to withdraw it.
    Are you really a fan?

Why on earth would anyone take any notice of such a character as "bigclive "

His stock in trade is to rip electronic components apart and have a guess at their components and what they are designed to do. He makes a few quid on Youtube and has quite a following..

Personally I think "bigclive " should be prosecuted for his video and it removed from the rogue website Youtube/google .
With friends like that, who needs enemies?

But how many contracts last for more than a couple of years ?
I am on a fixed price for 2 years and after that - I am at the whim of the supplier
Yes I could change suppliers - but how long before that supplier goes down the same route ?
If they can change tarrifs to dual rate - They WILL - You can guarantee that ...(anything to charge us more and reclaim their costs to "upgrade" to smart meters)
For that reason - I will never accept a smart meter in my home

Well if that happens and they want everyone on a smart meter then non smart meter tariffs are going to increase in price as well and you certainly won't be saving any money by rejecting the change.

Thats my concern - a law change that allows suppliers to force all consumers to get smart meters fitted - I see stormy waters ahead !!

Clive's videos typically attract hundreds of comments so clearly lots of people have figured out how to do it. It's not difficult to deduce his website address either.

I'm not going to explain it though. If you really think his video should be withdrawn why not contact the authorities? I'm sure he'd take more notice of them than some random comment on a YouTube video.

I have contacted "the authorities ", that is British Gas Revenue Protection and also complained directly to Youtube.
He did amend his video with another one and commented on a few complaints he s received ..BG RPU have succeeded sometimes with Ebay to remove fake gas meter seals but they come back on again a few weeks later. They failed in stopping the sale of stolen used gas meters which appear often on Ebay.
I don t need you to "explain it to me " how to put comments on Youtube vids , I ve done it hundreds of times but now Google have to link your account now to put comments on Youtube. and so far .Its not worked for me no matter what I try , at least not to "bigclive.com ".
.He must know that it is a stupid thing to be pulling apart because he s made doubly sure to black out all serial numbers on the meter. .Of all the things to delve around in and make guesses at their electronic components and how they work , a smart meter should be the last thing on his list. Maybe he does nt understand the extent of electricity meter bypassing in the UK.
Youtube is out of control in showing obviously illegal video s along with Ebay for their fake goods. There are even straight vids on now showing exactly which wires to link.."bypassed electric meter " etc..So it s even worse than "bigclives " stuff.. This "bypassed electric meter " video has 187k views and has been on for Youtube for 4 years. There will be blood on the hands of both Youtube and the idiot who uploaded that video ..
There will be plenty of desperate idiots ready to start snipping the metal seals and unscrewing the smart meter covers to get access to live lethal voltages within the meter.

  • The 250,000 refers to the second generation smart meters. I ve seen smart meters in operation installed by BG well over 10 years ago.A good proportion of them will be still be working with a loyal BG customer base as working smart meters.
BG started installing them well before any other supplier .
