New house Radiator

My fiancee and me recently got our new build house, after 5 months long delays we were happy to get in. We do have a snagging list, as you'd imagine, and one of the issues is that a radiator in the living room is in a really awkward place, which would be where you would naturally put a TV cabinet etc (makes the most sense with the space).

All the plans for the house we had seen did not have the radiator in this location pre-handover. Now we move in and, despite clarifying with the salesperson in the past that the radiator would NOT be there, there it is ... in the position we didn't want.

The developer have said to us that this was on their final plans for the building once we complained, however we weren't made aware of these final plans or haven't even been shown plans for the change. They also said that they weren't ever under any obligation to send us any changes that might need to occur, IE moving the radiator location. is this true, or are they just trying to pull a fast one after making a building error?

I've asked them to send a copy of these 'final' plans to me. Is there anything else that we can do about it, or anything else that I should ask for to clarify this situation?

We just feel that, as the building developer have already had few issues with our trust due to errors/false information, they might be at it again trying to get out of a mistake they've made...

Thanks!

Ben

Give them the plans you received pre-handover and get them to move the radiator in the position marked on them.

Are they still on site building other plots?
  • Yeah they're still on site, we have already shown them the plans and thats when they said the about not being obliged to show us any changes before the build
