Having problems closing my Yorkshire bank business account

It seems to me a very straightforward procedure that I should be able to do online as i did with Santander account I once had and yet after 8 days I am getting nowhere with them.
I have a business account which i no longer need as I have retired so as per their instructions, i sent them a letter requesting closure with a linked bank account to transfer any remaining funds.
That was over a week and I heard nothing so i phoned them yesterday and they claimed not to have received the letter so i asked if I could sent an attachment via email instead too which they said yes.
Today i looked at my account and saw nothing changed so i phoned yet again and was told no email had been received. The lady I spoke to suggested sending another straight to her and she would deal with it.
She also said she would contact me if she did not receive the email within the hour. Two hours have gone by and nothing.
I dont quite know what to do but it is infuriating I could physically transfer the sounds myself but with no closure they will want to keep charging me fees. Any suggestions?

If you have another bank already to move the funds to then just do it yourself.
Why are you wanting them to do it?0 -
of course i can do that but I don't want them to continue charging me bank charges and put me in an overdraft situation. The account needs to be closed downArgentine by birth,English by nature0

Glad you got this sorted OP. I was going to suggest that you send a letter by recorded delivery so that there was no way they could suggest that they have not received it. And if you had been charged bank fees whilst trying to close the account, I would have also written them a strongly-worded complaint letter asking for them to be refunded0
