I thought I'd share a MoneySavingExpert tip of my own...
I use an Apple Macbook Pro Retina - Early 2015 and I was experiencing Wi-fi problems.
So, I contacted Apple Tech Help and we went through some software checks before booking a Genius Bar appointment for a hardware repair.
I went along to the Genius Bar appointment and had a chat with a great Technician who explained what it was likely to be - a £84 'Airport Card' which would cost around £60 Labour to replace, plus VAT - around £172!
Well, I've managed to save £150 by doing it myself :rotfl:
1x Airport Card from an approved seller on eBay
1x Macbook Screwdriver Kit from Amazon (specifically the 1.2mm Pentalobe and T5 screwdrivers)
1x 10 minutes of my time to remove the backplate, flick the battery ribbon off and replace the airport card.
Total cost: £21.00
There's a great website called iFixIt with guides on how-to etc. but it genuinely is a straight forward job.
I've even looked at guides on upgrading my storage from 128gb to 256gb - but I'll wait until I absolutely must before I do that!
