Bailiff? Council ticket (fine) or private parking ticket (invoice)?

There's a statute of limitations (6 years), so when was the fine/CCJ registered?
  • the letter doesn't say what it was for the one today, I know its the parking ticket, as there is a spelling mistake of my name which was on the letter from over six years ago. I think it might have been council as I was in a parking bay which was 30 mins limit, as I had only been there 15 I refused to pay it, I know I should have appealed, but family situation at the time, I forgot if im honest. however the point is can they still collect even after all this time?

The best place to stand is by your phone as you pay it. Give them a ring and pay over the phone to avoid them attending again.

If they turn up another time you may be soon be looking at an empty space where your widescreen was.

I do not think waamo means they will take your windscreen. I think that what he is saying is that they will take the whole car.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

It all depends on whether the Council followed the correct process in the first place, and whether you can make an OOT application to the TEC to reset the old PCN to appeal stage (e.g. if they never replied to representations, never sent a NTO, etc).

Post about it on pepipoo before opening your wallet:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30

Councils can collect old tickets for many years but think about whether the appeals/NTO process was properly followed, and if in doubt about that, ask pepipoo about your options re using the TEC to reset it, even now.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
