The more I come here ...

… the more I despair. And to think, some of these fine specimens voted to leave the EU. No wonder we are in a mess.

I have trouble believing that some of these members passed their test and/or are over 16, or that some of the ones at uni dont know how to conduct research of their own, sometimes its like dealing with kindergarten ;)

the selfish antics at westminster also seem to be similar in nature at the moment

You'd be surprised who voted the leave the EU, The Deep. Not just me, others here did, and not stupid people by any means.

Let's leave it there, shall we?

Don't worry, I am never going to discuss the 'B' word on the internet! That way lies madness.

But speaking as someone with, ahem, rather 'selective' intelligence, I try to keep an open mind about the cognitive abilities of fellow posters. Most people would probably describe me as well-educated, I've done all sorts of things in my life from heavy manual work to teaching and management to creative stuff ..... but every single year I have a complete meltdown over my tax self-assessment form.

Something that intrigues and impresses me is how some folk turn up sounding worse than clueless and then proceed to demonstrate totally unfathomable levels of cluelessness. But .... after getting support and a bit of straight talking, they then produce a decent POPLA appeal .... then they may start talking SARs and LBCs and whatnot with the best of them, then they win!

I kept the aforementioned folk in mind this year while tackling the dreaded self-assessment. And for the first time ever it went fine! Not even a serious hangover.

    Spot on observation.

I despair at the urban myths that people people rely on when parking, the; " I sat in the car with my engine running for 30 minutes, yes there were loads of signs but I didn't think they meant waiting in the car" excuse for example.

Or the poster that spends three pages on here, after begging for help, arguing with half a dozen regulars as he believes they are wrong.
  • The more I come on here I'm amazed at the number of drivers, wanting help, who have moved and not updated their car details. The number seems to be increasing.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

This is the one that gets me, and what happened to all their post.

I'm surprised no one at Royal Mail hasn't come up with some marketing campaign.

"Don't get an unwanted CCJ from Scumbags R Us like J Bloggs, because they didn't put a re direct on the their post when they moved

Moving - get you post re-directed" Its easy and far cheaper than a CCJ.

Visit your local Post Office today or even easier do it online"
Private Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA :D

yup , but a big flaw there

max time for redirect = 2 yrs

max time to issue a CCJ = 6 yrs

perhaps some standardisation needs to be done

on many cases (well a few I have spotted) , people split from spouses , people move to temp accomodation , and the parking Cos get info before v5 updated

as simple change in CC rules at point of issue of claim , WHY has the defendant not signed for claim or responded , no sig or PROOF of address = no claim

gladrags do this all the time "we tried to contact them " , and yet a month later there trace can harrass at new/correct address

Are you doing it on line? I find it far easier now than with the old paper forms.

Yes, I am doing it online. Have to say that didn't make a blind bit of difference ... it's a mental block sort of thing. Seem to have cracked it now though.
