Never heard anything back/further from this – my card has not been charged the admin fee by the hire company and I didn’t have any letter through with the parking invoice. Never called hire company to enquire what details they passed on. Am I ok to just ignore this?

Yep, once 6 years have expired.

Meantime just be alert to anything cropping up that is linked to this.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Nope, just never contacted anyone at all about this, and as I haven't been charged or mailed or e-mailed any invoice, I am considering keeping quiet.

Everyone here suggested I don't do what you said above as I would suggest I could have indeed been there and that would be the end of any argument as apparently they are not reasonable, these companies.

Eventually got the paperwork through from CP through the post. I then called the hotel to say I was a guest that night but got this paperwork through the post. Gave car reg, notice number and name for the booking and the manager arranged to get it cancelled. Got another letter from CP within 4-5 days to say it's been cancelled.

Got away pretty easy in the end - no arguing with anyone, yay!

Well done. Retailer or landowner complaints are always the obvious first step!
