BMW service intervals?

Good morning,
I have a BMW 3 series 2016 saloon, 320d and the service icon is due in 700 miles. The car's last service was done by the dealership who had the car before me and it had the oil changed and filters changed at 14000. Now the car has 29.000 and I intend to do the servicing with BMW. Does anyone know what the service should include? They are quite pricey, but I would rather pay more now instead of ending up with a bigger technical failure.

2016? Yeah really needs to be main dealer although from 4/5 years old it is less important for maintaining value.

If you check in the iDrive (or the app if you have connected drive) it will tell you what service is required, it will probably be just the Oil service, but you might also be due a Brake Fluid change as I think this is due at 3 years old.0

I booked the car in for: Engine oil service with microfilter, air filter & fuel filter, Vehicle check service, Fault Diagnosis, End of warranty check, Standard Scope which is £500 so really pricey.0

This is with York Cooper dealer so I don't think I can get any cheaper than that. I will try another one nearby and see how it goes but if not I think I will have to go with that price as I like looking after my things and as someone mentioned above, it is crucial to look after it now to minimise the risk of having an expensive fixture to do later on.0 -
You don't have to go to the cheaper dealer, you use their price to beat York down.
I used to do this with Mercedes. A dealer in a quiet backwater in the north east was far cheaper than local dealers. Local dealer always price matched.0 -

Just got from another BMW dealer located 19 miles away another price, £115 more expensive than the York one for the same options. I guess I will have to go through a few to increase the chance of getting a better price.0 -

One thing i would say is the keys to longevity of the 320d engine are
(a) check the dipstick every week or two weeks. They are prone to using a little oil. Low oil = some components not getting fully lubricated
(b) if you are going to continue with the BMW dealer for the service intervals of 16000 or so, find a local indie and get the oil and filter changed at 8,000 miles also. Get them to use a genuine BMW filter, even if it means buying one yourself and handing it to them.
The oil gets contaminated and thins. By 16,000+ miles its like water.
These engines are known for timing chain problems (£4,000 fix) and turbo failures (£1,000 fix). Prevention is better than cure.0
