Hi All,

So my 11 year old son was given English homework to write about someone he looks up to. This is what he has written about Martin Lewis;

" MY IDOL
The person I would look up to would be Martin Lewis.
Martin Lewis was born in Manchester in 1972, Martin grew up in Cheshire's Delamere Forest and now lives in London with his wife, BBC Click presenter Lara (aka Mrs MSE), and five-year-old daughter Sapphire (aka mini MSE). If you fancy a bit of colour, read Lucy Kellaway's Financial Times profile of Martin.
Martin Lewis is a very smart man, he is very kind and runs a TV show to help people learn how to manage their money better; I think that’s really special about him and why I look up to him.
He has affected my life by showing me how to manage my money better and has taught me things I never knew before so when I am older I’m going to be careful with my money."

I am literally bursting with pride - I had no idea until he asked me to print it off for him!

    Well done to you, your son and Martin for inspiring him!
    The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

    I'd be proud that your son picked a sensible role model and not some youtuber! Good for him!
  • What a good kid! I'm so glad he has a good role model!

    What a lovely message to read. And such an articulate statement from an 11 year old.

    I'm very proud to be his idol. Please send him my best regards. And if you send a personal message to MSE Andrea - I'll send him a special copy of the fin ed textbook - while he's a little young it'll be useful one day :)
